2026 Programming

In 2026, we have a number of interactive drop-in style workshops we will be offering for adults who would like to learn more about food growing and working on the land within a collaborative community based model.

Currently we have a workshop series occurring this spring and summer at our educational urban farm site which is in Rexdale.

Stay tuned as we have more workshops such as our popular Organic Orchard Management series, rural field days and networking gatherings coming up this season.

New Farmer Training Program

In 2024 and 2025, through funding from the Ontario Trillium Fund's YOF stream we had the chance to conduct programming geared toward providing a hands-on and representative training program for new farmers and farmworkers through a cohort based model. The New Farmer Training Program is not taking place in 2026 but we hope to bring this interactive program back in the future. To learn more about what this program was, please read below.

The New Farmer Training Program is a free twice a year educational program for youth under 30 who would like to start their own farming operation or become farm workers. We provide travel reimbursements to all participants (TTC round trip or GO/Vehicle $10 each workshop).

We acknowledge and thank Ontario Trillium Fund for funding the New Farmer Training Program through their Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) stream for the duration of this program.
